The Prototype Program

The Prototype Program is centered around exploring new developments, configurations, and hardware in a low-cost, highly iterative nature. The aircraft within this program are used to train new members, develop good relationships with various governing bodies and flight regulatory organizations. Furthermore, it is a wonderful opportunity for new team members to get an understanding of GTSC's organizational structure and workflow.

Hyperion

"Proto"

Hyperion is GTSC's flagship vehicle, meant to build out the team's design process and developmental workflow. Powered with an electric ducted fan, or EDF, and built using carbon fiber composite materials & manufacturing techniques, Hyperion aims to reach a top speed of 150 mph and is slated to fly in the Fall of 2025, taking the mantle as the fastest fixed-wing aircraft ever designed and flown by Georgia Tech students.
